Usage Report of the CAPITA/DUST Web Domain - May 5, 1998

Definitions:
|
HIT |
Hit is one user’s file request and it occurs many times per web page (for every .GIF, .JPG…). It is meaningful only to evaluate server workload, not a web page popularity |
|
USER |
Users are defined as unique IP addresses. This number is inflated by all search engine robots which are cruising the net, as well as dynamic IP addressing which is used by most of modem connected users, where new IP is given from pool of IP addresses every time user connects to the Internet |
|
HOME PAGE |
Any request to main page but ignores subpages and graphics (e.g. /ASIA-FAREAST/, /ASIA-FAREAST/HOME.HTML, /CAPITA/ASIA-FAREAST/HOME.HTML…). This is a way to measure page’s popularity. |

Sum of hits per day
NOTE: Asia-FarEast hits are highlighted, but actual number of hits on them is higher because none of hits to its NavBar and icons (Java controlled frame on left side of page) is counted there. No explanation is found for unusually high number of non Asia-FarEast related hits on May 1st (16,000).
