
Instructions for HTML Home Pages Template Use
This template's purpose is to assist in the creation of on-line
reports and papers. To use this template, you will need a WWW
viewer (e.g. NetScape) and Microsoft Word for Windows 6.0 with
Internet Assistant. When a document is pasted to this template,
it will look like this example.
The provided guidelines should be used when creating any HTML.

Load template HTML into Word-IA, Save As.. new HTML.

Connect Linkbar buttons to other documents, copy Linkbar to doc bottom

Fill in Content and Section titles

Fill in document Contents and Body

Add bookmarks to document Body, link Contents to Bookmarks

Fill in signature, e-mail, document date and http://

Send e-mail to CAPITA support with WHATS NEW in Subject text box
1. Load template HTML document
into Word-IA, Save As... new HTML
- Select the appropriate HTML template from your hard disk.
If the template is not on your hard disk, use Netscape to select
the appropriate template from the server and File, Save As...
to the local disk.
- Open the template into the Word Internet Assistant application.

2. Connect Linkbar buttons to other
documents, only at document bottom.
- In the template, link the Linkbar arrows to the document's
adjacent files; this will give the document a virtual location
on the WWW.
- Linking is accomplished by clicking the Hyperlink
button and
imputing the URL addresses of the adjacent files into the URL
text box that corresponds with the correct arrow (Home - Home
page URL address, etc...). Repeat this function for all Linkbar
buttons.
- Cut & Paste the new Linkbar to the end of
the document, replacing the template's old Linkbar.

3. Fill in Content and Section
titles as well as Document Head Information
- The invisible Document Head is modified by clicking the Title
button (beside
the Hyperlink button).
- Replace in the template all titles in [brackets] with the
actual document titles; do this for both Content and Section titles.

4. Fill in document Contents
and Body
- Cut & Paste (or write) the pieces of the
document's body to their new positions on the template.

5. Add bookmarks to document Body,
link Contents to Bookmarks
- Add bookmark labels to all section titles by using Word IA's
Bookmark function. This will allow the reader to automatically
jump from the Content title to the corresponding section within
the document.
- Click the cursor immediately before the text which is to be
bookmarked, click the Bookmark
button, and input the bookmark name.
- Link the content entries to the bookmarks by pressing the
Hyperlink
button and selecting from the given list the appropriate bookmark.

6. Fill in signature, e-mail, update
date and http://
- Sign the document by giving an e-mail signature
- Link the "mailto:" address which can serve to answer
questions or receive comments about the document.
- Update the "Last modified..." with today's date.
- Put in the correct URL address at the end of the document.

7. Send e-mail to CAPITA support
with WHAT'S NEW in Subject text box
- In order to facilitate communication and knowledge dissemination,
send an e-mail message to CAPITA support with the phrase "What's
New" in the Subject text box. Then write 1-2 sentences summarizing
what the new document is about. The document will then be placed
in the What's New section of the CAPITA Homepage.
