To FTP we highly recommend downloading WS_FTP (if you have a PC) or Fetch (if you have a Mac). These two files can be found on our software page. The following instructions are for WS_FTP. For an understanding of WS_FTP, please see Internet and FTP.
1. When connecting the entries should be filled out as the following
Host name: capita.wustl.edu2. When connected, hit the "Option" button. A little screen will appear. In this little screen select "Session Options". Another small window will appear. Be sure in this window that binary is checked. Then close the "Session Options" and "Options" window.
3. When you are connect to Capita, go into the folder titled "mailbox", then into the folder titled "In". Finally enter into your folder or the "Neardat" folder. The windows on the right are the Capita files and folders, while the folders on the left are your computers files and folders. To understand the windows go see the Internet and FTP site.
4. To download an item, hit the left arrow. To upload hit the right arrow.
5. Important buttons-

Rmdir-remove a directory
Rename-change the name of a directory
Dele- Delete a file
6. When the file is in the mailbox, you may go submit it into the NEARDAT website.
For those Mac users out there her is a link to an intro to Fetch.
For Fetch you can use the same Host name, username and password as WC_FTP.
