Welcome to Maslinica!
|
On the most western point of the island Solta, with its islets and cliffs
(Stipanska, Balkun, Saskinja, Polebrnjak, Rudula, Grmej, Kamicic) Maslinica is endowed with an extraordinarily beautiful natural setting.
It shares it's name with the bay where the family Alberti built a castle in 1708 (today called "Avlija"),
and relocated several families from the mainland.

|
The inhabitants, living in close proximity to the sea,
were always competent fishermen, although today thay tend to be occupied more with tourism and recreational fishing.
Next to Maslinica there is a long bay called "Sesula", which sailors use as a protection from the winds better known as "Jugo", "Bura" and "Maestral".

Maslinica is a quiet place, perfect for rest and enjoyment of its natural beauties such as clear water, rich with a great variety
of fish, beautiful view of the little islands in front of the bay and also a good opportunity to escape from the city traffic and fill out the lungs with the healthy Mediteranean air.
