Focus: Quebec Smoke Pall Over the Northeast On July 6 and 7, 2002, a smoke cloud from the fires in northern Quebec blanketed the northeastern U.S. and adjacent Canada. The smoke has produced record PM2.5 concentrations, disruption to road and aviation traffic, and yellow coloration of the sky.
