North American Integrated Fine Particle Speciated Data - Version 2

A long term North American fine particle (<2.5 micrometers) data set containing mass, elemental composition, ions and organics. There are 577 urban and rural monitoring sites in the US (520 sites) and Canada (57 sites) from 1979 through February 1997. The data set was created by integrating data from 14 historical and active fine particle monitoring networks (IMPROVE, NESCAUM, GAViM, SCENES, CARB, NPMR, NAPS, MOHAVE, PREVENT, WHITEX, SFU, EMEFS, CASTNet Vchem, CASTNet DryChem). Except for unit changes, the fine mass concentrations have not been altered from that received from the data suppliers..

The format of the data file and accompaning location and variable tables are desribed in the web document North American Fine Particle Data Sets

Changes from Version 1: a) Added data from the MOHAVE, PREVENT, WHITEX, SFU, EMEFS, CASTNet Vchem, CASTNet DryChem networks. b) fixed IMPROVE monitoring site's latitudes and longitudes. c) converted data from ng/m3 to micro-g/m3

North American Integrated Fine Particle Speciated Data - Version 1

The fine mass, elemental composition including organics, and ions from the IMPROVE, NESCAUM, GAViM, SCENES, CARB, NPMR, and NAPS Networks. The data set has 172 monitoring sites in the US and Canada from March 1988 through February 1998.
