This section contains the documents and list of activities related to the use of the web in support of OTAG.
Archiving What's New
The What's New page has been archived by month, all months being accessible at the bottom of the What's New Page. This operation has reduced the size of the What's New Page from over 250K to about 32K, greatly reducing download time.
New banners for the OTAG Air Quality Analysis Workgroup have been added. The left portion of each banner displaying the OTAG logo is linked to the official OTAG web site. The home page of this domain still be reached by using the button in the linkbar.
Movies of meteorological data for the Eastern US during the summer months, June-August, for 1991 - 1995 are now available. These movies include forward and backward trajectories, as well as temperature and precipitation
A new Java applet, Slide Projector, is installed on the OTAG AQA Website for browsers that support Java (e.g. Netscape 2.01). Additional development will include audio and text description with each slide. Comments and feedback are welcome.
New section added: Ozone managment strategies that focus on decreasing nitrogen oxide emissions will be more effective in decreasing ozone concentrations in the rural South and in Atlanta and similar urban centers than strategies that focus on decreasing anthropogenic emissions of volatile organic compounds.
We now have a fully functional mirror site for our server if it goes down. This also allows for additional back-up for any files on the server. The server will be backed-up every day at 3:00am CST (-6:00 GMT) so expect delays during this hour. A complete back-up will be made every Saturday at the same time, this will be a longer process taking more time.
In order to maintain the original intent of this website as being an interactive experience, the old Comments and Feedback function has been altered to include a "response" option. This site functions on the sharing of information as well as feedback to that information; thus, every statement of substance (versus a simple announcement or listing) can be responded to by anyone. The only requirement being that the person responding be registered on the OTAG/AQA Peoples Page. This function can be utilized on any Comment and Feedback page found attached to any report or dataset on this server, as well as on the Forum pages. This function shall also be applied to specific OTAG/AQA technical and policy questions requiring open forums to facilitate a solution.
List of OTAG AQA Website personnel, their activity and % time devoted to the project. The manpower resources are consumed at a rate of about 3.4 person-year.
